HORSE PROTECT, the new elastic impact protection system for horse stalls, offers effective wall protection in the stable – the risk of injury to kicking horses is reduced and the walls of the horse stalls remain undamaged because kicks and impacts are cushioned by the plates. The noise level in the stable is also significantly reduced. In contrast to other manufacturers, we do not use rubber for our wall impact protection elements, but instead rely entirely on the positive characteristics and toughness of polyurethane as the top material for durable walls and optimum impact protection.
Our wall mats cushion direct frontal impacts thanks to their elastic polyurethane air half-tubes at the rear. When rolling around, the horses' hooves are deflected by the smooth, wear-resistant surface of the impact protection mats, preventing them from impacting against metal edges, steel profiles or masonry. Kicks to the sides while eating or due to feed envy are also optimally deflected thanks to the special polyurethane kickboards. The wall impact protection therefore ensures a high level of safety and reduces the risk of injury to your horse in the stable. As the noise level also decreases, many animals quickly lose the urge to engage in the bad habit of kicking against the stall doors and walls. In addition, the PU kickboards are urine-resistant, extremely durable and equipped with bite-resistant, rounded top and bottom edges.
The material used in our HORSE PROTECT impact protection system is completely free of plasticisers and harmful substances, and therefore does not produce any harmful emissions. This means it protects your horse in multiple regards.
The HORSE PROTECT impact protection system can be installed throughout the horse stall, but also only partially in certain impact areas. The polyurethane kickboards are easy to install on stainless steel mountings with a locking tongue and groove system, making them precise and easy to handle. No bonding is necessary. Stainless round aluminium pins in the connecting channels ensure optimum stability for connecting the upper and lower edges. Stable connection posts with tongue and groove joints for closure at the sides additionally guarantee quality and serve as chew protection on doors or drinkers. To cater to visual requirements, the wall impact protection for horse stalls is available in a number of different colours – enabling the PU plates to be adapted to the desired ambience.

HORSE PROTECT – systematic wall impact protection
With our HORSE PROTECT impact protection system, we at Paul Gröne GmbH offer you absolutely reliable construction components that contribute to the protection of your animals and stable thanks to the combination of extremely durable, highly abrasion-resistant and cushioning materials and their design. Extreme impact stresses and biting have little effect on the polyurethane plates, as they offer optimum resistance. Thanks to the hollow chambers at the rear of the plates, the system offers mechanical and thermal advantages compared to conventional cladding components. The installation technique is simple and the mounting rails can be individually adapted to the stall. This allows us to offer appropriate wall protection of all sizes in the form of our PU plates. The rails are aligned using the installation aids, thereby enabling installation by a single person. Lateral beam systems protect the horse from injuries caused by sharp edges. Drinkers and feed troughs can be individually taken into consideration and are secured by a lower edge guard. The wall impact protection in plate form can also be removed quickly and reused elsewhere if structural changes or relocation within the stable are pending.
THE impact test
Installation of HORSE PROTECT
1. Determine height
Determine the height of the upper edge of the HORSE PROTECT (HP) plate. Attach the threaded connection and the mounting bracket to the wall, leaving space for the connecting post. Fastening parts are included in delivery.
2. Start with connecting post
Assemble the left connecting post and the first HP plate. Place the plate onto the mounting bracket and hook the locking mechanism into the recessed pockets. Screw on the post.
3. Assemble
Suspend and lock the HP plates in succession and secure each of them with the pre-installed locking pin. An installation aid for locking is enclosed.
4. End with connecting post
If necessary, cut the last plate to size and clamp it in place with a connecting post on the right. Screw down the post and screw on the HP plates at the bottom.
5. Screw down at bottom
Screw down the lower edge of the HP in the intended holes, which are reinforced with cast-in metal washers.
